Vaccination in Pakistan

Get Vaccination in Pakistan!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year-and-a-half, we’re going to try to help you understand why you should get vaccinated in Pakistan. This blog covers almost all the existing factors as to the benefits and the potential loss you can incur if you choose not to get yourself vaccinated.

How to register yourself for the process of vaccination in Pakistan?

There are several reasons why you should do so, however, we’re going to systematically start with the basics: How to register for the vaccination process?

Citizens can now easily register by sending out a text message containing their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number to 1166. You will receive a message containing your registration number, which you’ll have to show to the medical officers at the vaccination centres.

You can also get registered for the vaccination process by visiting the National Immunisation Management System (NIMS) website. The resulting outcome remains the same: the vaccination centre, a unique PIN codem, and the appointed date will be communicated to you via a text message. Moreover, once you have received the code, you can now visit any vaccination centre, preferably the one nearest to you.

How can you change your centre for vaccination in Pakistan?

This option is now redundant, however, if you are still looking to change your Covid-19 vaccination centre, you can easily do so. There is no paperwork or legwork required for this process, as the government has announced that once you are registered for the vaccination process in Pakistan, you can go to your nearest vaccination centre, show them the pin code, and get yourself vaccinated.

What to bring along with you when going to the vaccination centre in Pakistan?

There isn’t a long list of things that you have to bring along with you to the vaccination centre, just make sure that you have your original Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), and the pin code you received from 1166.

Moreover, make sure to wear a loose or short-sleeved shirt, as you will get the jab administered to your non-dominant (mostly left) arm. Ensure that you have followed the basics of a good hygiene practice, and as per the government-sanctioned anti-Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs), properly wear a face mask, carry your personal hand sanitiser, and do keep a water bottle around incase you get thirsty, as it may take a longer time to get vaccinated owing to the influx of citizens and the shortages of vaccines. It is highly recommended that those coming in for the vaccination process to patiently wait for your turns.

Which anti-Covid-19 vaccines are being administered in Pakistan?

Pakistan is offering almost all the World Health Organisation (WHO)-approved vaccines — Moderna, Pfizer, SinoPharm, Cansino, and Sinovac, along with an indigenously produced vaccine ‘PakVac’ (which has yet to attain approval from the WHO).

Types of vaccines available in Pakistan: The following vaccines are available in very limited numbers:

  • Moderna
  • Pfizer
  • Sputnik V

The readily-available vaccines in Pakistan are:

  • SinoPharm
  • SinoVac
  • Cansino

Three most-accepted vaccines around the globe are also being administered in Pakistan, which were initially imported by the private sector and were hence not free. However, the incumbent government has been successful in importing these widely-accepted vaccines and is now administering them ‘free of charge’.

What are the benefits of getting vaccinated in Pakistan?

Citizens are requested by governments all around the world to get themselves vaccinated, so as to slow the spread of Coronavirus and maybe halt the pandemic from inflicting further losses — be it financial or of human life. For this, the government has also made the SOPs easier for the population to enroll in the vaccination process in Pakistan.

Getting vaccinated does not mean that you cannot ever-contract Covid-19. However, it does help you in training your immune system into fighting the virus. Vaccination allows your body to have a better chance of survival, avoiding getting highly-infected so you don’t really end up with the worst life-threatening symptoms.

Moreover, there are so many random myths circulating around the world regarding vaccines being used for ulterior motives by big pharma or people of influence. This is all rubbish. The world was not prepared for such a deadly pandemic, which quickly engulfed the entire globe within a timeframe of less-than-a-year. When the pandemic was in its early stages, several people were even reluctant to even acknowledge the existence of Covid-19.

Soon, the world realised that people were either reluctant or hesitant to get themselves vaccinated. The same happened in Pakistan. The government introduced new reforms to help the skeptic segment of the society into getting vaccinated in Pakistan. The reforms further encouraged the private sector to do the same, which was later enforced as well. Getting yourself vaccinated in Pakistan would enable you to live your life freely, in this Covid-19-laden world.

What blowbacks can you expect if you choose not to get vaccinated in Pakistan?

Following the skeptic reaction of the indegenous population of Pakistan, the government has now reverted to somewhat stern efforts to increase the vaccinated population of the country. These steps are not something that people would like, however, it does defeat the purpose if people were willingly flocking into vaccination centres in Pakistan to get themselves fully-vaccinated.

The government of Pakistan has now introduced restrictions for those avoiding the vaccination process in the country. There is a travel ban being implemented nationally to encourage people towards vaccination in Pakistan. Only fully-vaccinated people can now enjoy shopping malls, take domestic flights (as international flights already require vaccination), take busses or metros. If you are still not fully-vaccinated by now, and are working somewhere, you’ll probably be getting a salary deduction as of yet.

The government may in fact introduce even stringent rules to encourage the country’s population into getting jabs. All of these unwelcoming steps are going to help curb the spread of Covid-19. So, take part in the process of vaccination in Pakistan and help prevent you and your loved ones from getting inflicted by the prevailing virus.
