As we are beginning to understand the elusiveness of the Covid-19 virus, the world governments are starting to take tougher and tougher measures to curb the virus from spreading. The efforts to have the global population vaccinated against the prevailing Covid-19 virus are underway at full speed. In Pakistan, you can easily get vaccinated from any centre, however, you need to get a vaccination certificate from NADRA, which will allow you to be able to enjoy some form of freedom.
Eversince the Covid-19 virus became a global pandemic, world governments began efforts to create a viable vaccine to counter the prevailing virus. However, as the big pharmas reached the final stage for production, rumours began sprouting up around the world regarding the adverse effects of vaccines — some totally outrageous. Governments all around the world started to create a positive image around the vaccination efforts, however, the public at large remained reluctant.
In Pakistan, the third-most successful country to counter the virus from spreading, the vaccination efforts began on a very positive note. The federal government started by adding value to the image of the vaccinated population. It also tapped into the private sector to encourage them to get their employees vaccinated. Later on, the government enabled the companies to have dedicated vaccination drives to help them get their employees fully-vaccinated.
Following these steps, the government began promoting different types of vaccines, creating an aura for the unvaccinated population to easily choose their preferred inoculation brand. Nevertheless, these efforts became futile as the general people, yet again, started to revert to stereotypes that began erupting in the beginning of the pandemic. The world started warming up to a pandemic-induced normal, and getting vaccinated became the new ‘world movement’.
The next step that the government took was following the National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) recommendations regarding the steps to encourage the inoculation and immunisation effort. As per the total population of the country, only 7% of the population is fully-vaccinated, and some 23% of the population has received the first dose of the vaccine. Pakistan started to import vaccines, via different programs and initiatives, but still remains under-vaccinated as a whole.
The NCOC recently suggested strict steps to help boost the ongoing immunization campaign in the country. The government, in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), launched certificates to establish a proof that enables the vaccinated crowd to be able to enjoy unrestricted access to several necessary activities. It began with the conditions that firstly included restrictions on travel and then dine-in. Not only to travel internationally, vaccination certificates are also compulsory if you want to opt for any form of public transport system.
NADRA began issuing single-dose vaccination/inoculation/immunisation certificates to help people with these restrictions. The NCOC then further began issuing more restrictions to this effect, which included applying a temporary ban on the telecommunication services, and the latest: fuel supply suspension on the unvaccinated people.
How to get vaccination certificates from Nadra?
Once you’ve received your first dose of the anti-covid-19 vaccination, you’re eligible to get the vaccination certificate. The same procedure applies for when you get fully-vaccinated.
Follow these steps to download your vaccination certificate from Nadra:
- Go to nims.nadra.gov.pk
- Click on certificate verification
- Enter your Computerised National Identification Card (CNIC) number
- You’ll be redirected to a payment window
- Select your payment method of PKR 100
- Once complete, you’ll be given an option to download your verified vaccination certificate
Another procedure is to visit any Nadra office (at least 2 days after inoculation), and submit PKR 100. You will get an additional option of opting for a vaccination verification card. Either way, whichever option you choose, you will have to wait 2-4 days to receive your vaccination certificate from Nadra.
