The name looks strange so different is our ambition. Spread on some 50 acres land in neighborhood of Bahria and DHA Isb. Its like a basket of nature, Organic food and sustainability. Few Highlights of the farmhouse:- 1. At start farm had not a foot of cultivatable land that means no industrial agri with fertilizer, chemicals or pesticides. We tilled virgin lands. 2. In traditional farming top soil has a life or Biota but frequent tilling and use of chemicals purges this biota and life turns like a patient on bed supported by food through drips. You put more chemicals and get more produce and who cares for health of consumers. Farm is dedicated to restoring the lost biota. 3. Traditional farming produces healthy food with no chemical or hazardous content. We strictly follow traditional practices at farmhouse. 4. Land near urban areas are being bulldozed and converted into a jungle of concrete by societies. We are trying to preserve nature in the neighborhood of Rawalpindi Islamabad. 5. Urbanization devoids the land with ability to absorb rainwater leading to lesser recharge to subsoil reserves. We try to break the hard pan to ensure max absorption of rainwater. 6. Pakistan is fast getting water scarces Country, We at farm are doing a comprehensive Rain Water Harvesting effort to store rainwater for recharge and use later. We use a network of small dams, ponds and tanks to store Rain Water. Small dams and ponds not only protect flooding but also ensure sustained recharge of water after rains. 7. Provision and cost of power is a challenge, we at farmhouse are Harvesting 32 kwa of solar and 4 kwa of wind energy which is more than our consumption so instead of taking something from grid we are actually feeding back. 8. Farms use lot of energy and fuel thus contribute to escalating carbon footprint. Utilization of electrical equipment and an EV charged during day hours is reducing our carbon emissions. 9. Our efforts to grow plants and crops through traditional methods helps in extending breathable stretches in close vicinity of extremely polluted Twin Cities. 10. Farmhouse plays a vital role to bridge knowledge gap and technology in ignored rural areas. We educate farmers in neighborhood on good practices on agriculture. 11. Farm also tries to educate urbaners in importance of growing own food in kitchen gardens. We are hosting National Kitchen Gardening Festival on first weekend of Feb every year in partnership with Pakistan AgriTourism Corporation. 12. We are also in process of reforming the agriculture through IT by providing visibility of produce and demand, reducing premarket wastage, reduced supply chain distance, cutting middlemen and physical markets. The new Agri Ecosystem will reduce traveling distances, enhance income of farmers, digitize control, ensure availability of fresh produce and at lower prices.
